Artist's Bio

After being a woodworker since 1975, exploring everything from musical instruments to kitchen cabinets, I came across glass fusing in 1997. Like a fly in amber, I was captured by the honey-like flow and texture of warm glass and its possibilities. I am fascinated by the magic of glass, always learning and loving every minute.
I  have chosen to focus on using recycled glass windows as my source for my fused glass work. Because window glass was never intended for this purpose, the limitations pose the challenge of adding color, style, and life to such a simple, industrial material. Window glass is ubiquitous, its availability allows freedom to experiment  (make lots of mistakes) with large projects, such as my garden art.
I am pleased to have found a recyclable material that allows such expression. I'm not an artist by training, I just have to make things.
